Alessandro Perin è un neurochirurgo presso l’Istituto “C. Besta”, dove opera e cura pazienti affetti da tumori del sistema nervoso centrale. Ha ottenuto un dottorato di ricerca in neuroscienze/neuro-oncologia presso l’Università di Trieste, Italia (in collaborazione con il Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University) e ha completato una fellowship clinica in oncologia neurochirurgica presso il Dipartimento di Neurochirurgia della McGill University, Montreal. Ha contribuito a sviluppare la prima piattaforma web-based di ecografia intraoperatoria dedicata alla neurochirurgia (https://neurostream.academy). È il Direttore Scientifico del Centro Besta NeuroSim dalla sua fondazione nel 2015. È il P.I. del progetto Erasmus+ delle European Knowledge Alliances AENEID (Academy for European Neurosurgical Excellence through Innovation and Diversity), in collaborazione con l’EANS. Ha pubblicato numerosi articoli peer-reviewed e capitoli di libri (h-index 42).
Dr Alessandro Perin is a neurosurgeon at “C. Besta” Institute. His activity focuses mainly on the surgical treatment of patients suffering from brain or spinal cord tumors. He obtained a Ph.D. in neuroscience/neuro-oncology at the University of Trieste, Italy (in collaboration with the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University) and he completed his clinical fellowship in neurosurgical oncology at the Neurosurgery Department at McGill University, Montreal. He contributed to developing the first ioUS web-based platform (https://neurostream.academy) and the first ioUS simulation and rehearsal app (USim). He is the Scientific Director of the Besta NeuroSim Center since its creation in 2015. He is the P.I. of the European Knowledge Alliances Erasmus+ project AENEID (Academy for European Neurosurgical Excellence through Innovation and Diversity), in collaboration with the EANS. He has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters (h-index 42).
